PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT) held the AMMAN Goes to Campus program at Olat Maras Community Academy (AKOM), Sumbawa, on Tuesday (January 20, 2026). The event carried the theme of mining safety and was enthusiastically attended by approximately 400 AKOM students from the Heavy Equipment Engineering and Renewable Energy Engineering study programs.
In his opening remarks, AKOM Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Fajar Rachmat, S.I.Kom, warmly welcomed the AMMAN Goes to Campus initiative. He emphasized that the program, which focused on mining safety, provided significant benefits for students.
“AKOM was established based on the concern of Dr. Zulkieflimansyah regarding the low quality of human resources among communities surrounding mining areas. In the 1990s, when mining companies began operating, local communities often became mere spectators in their own homeland,” said Fajar.
Therefore, the presence of AKOM aims to prepare skilled human resources who are ready to compete in the workforce, particularly in the mining industry.
Currently, AKOM is entering its ninth year of operation. The Heavy Equipment Engineering Study Program is supported by heavy equipment facilities such as excavators, loaders, and dump trucks for practical training, along with extensive land areas used for hands-on practice.
Meanwhile, the Diploma Two (D2) Renewable Energy Engineering Study Program, which is now in its second year and has graduated its first cohort, equips students with knowledge in energy conversion technologies, including solar power generation and solar-powered pumping systems. Students are also trained in air conditioning maintenance and plumbing systems.
The AMMAN team present at the event included Dimas Setiyawardana from the Safety, Health, and Loss Prevention (SHLP) Department, Karyawansyah from the Social Impact Department, Ervan as AMNT’s Sumbawa representative, Septino Eklesia Wangania (SHLP), Hilman Sakhowi (SHLP), and Dias Aldiansyah (Corporate Communications).
In his presentation, Dimas Setiyawardana explained various potential workplace accidents in the mining industry and discussed strategies to minimize risks and achieve zero accidents each year.
The public lecture became even more engaging as the AMMAN Goes to Campus team provided various door prizes. Students who successfully answered questions received prizes, and special rewards were also given to the best questioners.
