First day of the practical exams for TAB and TET students.

Sumbawa, June 22, 2026 – A spirit of competence was clearly visible at the Akademi Komunitas Olat Maras (AKOM) Sumbawa campus today. A total of 517 AKOM students officially began a series of crucial technical practical exams designed to equip them with field skills that meet industry standards.

“This exam is being taken by 470 students from the Heavy Equipment Engineering (TAB) study program, consisting of 12 classes, and 47 students from the Renewable Energy Engineering (TET) program. The series of exams starting today serves as an important benchmark for students to master the operation of heavy industrial machinery as well as eco-friendly technology,” stated Mr. Agus Harlian, M.M.Inov, Head of the Heavy Equipment Engineering Study Program.

In these exams, Heavy Equipment Engineering (TAB) students are tested on their ability to operate Excavators and Wheel Loaders, two primary instruments that serve as the backbone of the mining and construction sectors. Meanwhile, according to the Head of the Renewable Energy Engineering (TET) Study Program, Mr. Kurniawan Rahman Hakim, S.T., “Students are focused on mastering solar power installation, which aligns with AKOM’s mission to support the transition to green energy in the future.”

This practical exam is more than just a graduation requirement; it is a manifestation of AKOM Sumbawa’s commitment to ensuring that every graduate possesses tangible technical competence, maintains discipline regarding operational procedures, and is ready to be absorbed directly into the industry.
