Olat Maras Community Academy (AKOM) officially commenced the series of Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) for the 11th cohort of the 2026/2027 Academic Year on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Scheduled to run until August 27, 2026, this orientation program serves as the initial gateway for 450 new AKOM students to become better acquainted with the campus environment.

The opening ceremony was officially inaugurated directly by the Director of AKOM, Fajar Rachmat, S.I.Kom.

In his remarks, Fajar provided mental encouragement and strong motivation for all new students to pursue their education with dedication and seriousness.

“Take advantage of this PKKMB momentum to start building mental discipline, broadening your horizons, and instilling a professional work ethic, because at AKOM you do not just learn theory, but you are prepared to directly become competent experts ready to face the challenges of the industrial world,” he stated.

The festivity and significance of the event were further enhanced by the presence of key stakeholders from the regional government of Sumbawa Regency.

The opening of the first day of PKKMB was attended by the Deputy Chairman III of the Sumbawa Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Zulfikar Demitri, as well as representatives from the Sumbawa Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans).

The presence of these prominent figures underscores the tangible support and close collaboration between the legislative branch, executive branch, and vocational education institutions in preparing a competitive local workforce.

In this 2026/2027 academic year student admissions, AKOM recorded a massive turnout, reaching a total of 450 new students. These hundreds of participants are distributed proportionally across various flagship study programs based on current real industry needs.

A total of 16 students joined the Poultry Farming Business Operation Study Program (P2U), 26 students joined the Renewable Energy Engineering Study Program (TET), and the majority—400 new students—are pursuing their education in the Heavy Equipment Engineering Study Program (TAB).

Through the implementation of this first day of PKKMB, new students are expected to adapt quickly to the academic culture and vocational training system at AKOM.

The agenda, which will continue into its second day tomorrow, is designed to strengthen students’ understanding of the campus learning pattern, ensuring they are ready to transform into resilient, innovative academic individuals prepared to make a real contribution to regional and national development.
