Interview Selection Stage Becomes a Crucial Step in Recruiting Competent Generations in the Vocational Field
Sumbawa, July 6, 2026 – Akademi Komunitas Olat Maras (AKOM) Sumbawa has again conducted the selection stage for new student candidates for the second wave. The activity held today is a significant moment for participants to demonstrate their potential, interests, and motivation before officially joining the AKOM academic community. Approximately 183 participants attended with great enthusiasm to follow the series of interview tests designed to assess academic readiness and dedication to vocational education.
This selection process covers new student candidates for the three leading study programs offered by AKOM: Heavy Equipment Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, and Poultry Farming Business Operations. These three programs are designed to meet current industrial challenges that require skilled and adaptive workers. Through this interview, examiners assess the participants’ commitment to undergoing the practice-based education that is the hallmark of the institution, where adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) is the foundation of competence.
The high enthusiasm of the 183 participants shows that the interest of the younger generation in Sumbawa in technical skill-based education continues to increase. Responding to this, the CEO of Akademi Komunitas Olat Maras, Fajar Rachmat S.I.Kom , gave his full appreciation for the participants’ spirit. “Vocational education is the key to regional independence. We see great potential from the new faces present today. At AKOM, we do not only produce graduates who are capable of working, but we produce innovators who are competent and have character, regardless of their background, as long as they have the determination to learn and grow,” he expressed.
In the interview session, each candidate is given the opportunity to convey their vision regarding their future career in their chosen field. AKOM emphasizes the importance of professionalism in every aspect of training. This is in line with the institution’s mission to produce ready-to-work experts with high competitiveness at both local and national levels, by instilling the mentality that competence is a reflection of personal dedication.
The entire second wave interview activity proceeded smoothly and in an orderly manner. The campus management expressed appreciation to all participants who have participated and shown sincerity.
